Liu An Gua Pian
Liu An’s Melon Slice is grown and made in Liu An country in Anhui province. The leaf shape of Liuan Gua
Pian without buds and stems makes itself much distinguished among thousands of kinds of teas in China.
The leaf is covered with frost/white hair. It is usually picked around 20th, April. If the leaves being picked
after that period, it would be hard to achieve a high quality for the tea. After picking the bud and two leaves
from the plant, the tea maker removes buds and any stem from the leaves. These careful-cut leaves are
then pan-fired over low heat with a very limited amount (100g) to ensure a highest quality, creating a tea with
shinning green colored leaves and a refreshing flavor. Liu An Gua Pian has green tea’s healthy benefits,
especially for helping digestion and improve skin conditions.
To prepare Liu An Gua Pian, take 3-5g, brew with 85º water for 1-2 minutes. Good for multiple infusions.
After being brewed, the reverse side of the leaf will still be green.
